CSU degree and program validation

Validation is a tool that society uses to monitor, assess and evaluate the standards and quality of the education a student receives at a college or other institutions of higher learning.

CSU Validation Board evaluates and assesses curriculum and educational programs with a view to validate the qualifications awarded.

The standards for Validation  are set by a  three member peer review committee. The committee aids in the evaluation of each school curriculum and program .In order for potential colleges to proceed with the validation process smoothly, they must meet the general standards set by the peer review committee. Each institution is typically assessed using the following criteria:

Overall Mission of the College;

• Objectives and Goals
• Student Requirements for Admissions
• Services Available to Students
• Quality of Education

Is Validation important?

Companies want to know that prospective employees have a quality education and that they will have something to bring to the table as members of  their team. For this purpose, validation  enables companies to filter those individuals who have obtained a degree from a competent institution from those who have not. The process also offers students a better chance of having their credits transferred to other reputable institutions should they decide to obtain a graduate level education.

Do all schools need validation?

Not all schools need recognition some schools offer specialty training programs in technical and art fields that don’t fall under the traditional process of validation.

Do online learning institutions offer the same Validation as “brick and mortar” institutions?

Validation  considers  online educational institutions and distance learning programs to  the same standards held by the traditional “brick and mortar” institutions.
